thank you all for the comments. i should have versioned it,  broke it trying
to address these ideas last night. i'll debug and u/i it this weekend then
bamo.
if my numbers are correct its realistic to think that this whole task could
really be complete in ~30 person-hours of work, and all of our events can
have date data- which is exciting.
i dare someone to hadoop a 'timeline of everything'.
i signed up for a yahoo placemaker api key. that tool looks great. i tried
doing this a while ago with just a str.match of 'city/town'  and it was
hiliarious because there are cities called 'the', and 'dildo' etc. so
hopefully this extractor is all semantic-y. i could use some help getting it
running maybe.
ya and also, new regex ideas are welcomed, i know  'won [0-9]+ stanley cups'
gets a few hundred hits from our 6000 hockey player topics.
these supervised data games people are making are a thousand times quicker
than ui work.
