I would say the best thing to do would be to open a feature request in
JIRA for SVG support (I couldn't find one currently existing) and let me
know the issue ID so I can vote for it :-) I don't actually know how
much attention is paid to votes in JIRA, but there you go.

If you upload a version converted to PNG, it might be nice to tag it
somehow to note that it should be replaced by an SVG obtained form <this
url> when SVG support is available.
