[Developers] Attribution/Citation best practices?

"Attribution" in that sense is more about "who wrote this link and  
how?" not "what is the provenance of this data?"  For instance,  
sometimes you see that someone edited a Person topic using Genderizer  
eg. http://www.freebase.com/view/en/richard_holeton.  The "using  
Genderizer" part of that is picked up from the attribution.  I believe  
our data team use this to connect writes to mass data loads (http://www.freebase.com/view/dataworld/mass_data_operation 
) so that we can track stuff internally, but this hasn't been  
documented for general use.  Perhaps someone on that team could speak  
up and explain how an external contributor could do the same.
