This looks like a bug in the functionality to me.
There are two constraints on the view and both should be getting applied to new topics that you add to it.
We'll take a look into it. Thanks for reporting.

Subject: [Developers] Bug/feature with "add to view" functionality?

Hi.

I've created a view for "ZX Spectrum games featuring cooperative
gameplay":
<http://zxspectrum.freebase.com/view/base/zxspectrum/views/games_featuring_cooperative_gameplay>

If I now use the "Do you know something that's missing from this view?
Add it!" functionality to add a game already marked as having a ZX
Spectrum version, but not marked as having the cooperative gameplay
genre, it seems to be duplicating any "ZX Spectrum" entries in the
/cvg/computer_videogame/versions property. See for example my recent
edits to Target Renegade
<http://zxspectrum.freebase.com/view/guid/9202a8c04000641f800000000099089e>

Is this:

a) A bug in the "add to view" functionality?
b) A bug in how I've created the view?
c) Just something that's going to happen due to the way the schema's
been created? (and if so, is there anything that can be done about it?)
d) Something else?

Cheers,

Phil
