[Developers] Universe of ideas

Hi,

I'm not sure if this mailing list is the right place to put this and if 
anyone knows a better place,
please let me know.

A couple of weeks ago I had the rough idea of a website/webapplication 
which allows users
to share and link their thoughts and ideas about arbitrary topics, that 
is to build a universe of
ideas. It should not only provide a plattform to collect the thoughts 
but in particular emphasize
a graphical view which gives the user the feeling to virtually walk 
through this universe, to branch
from thought to thought and if, by reading one of the thoughts, 
something new came into his
mind he might bring his new idea into the universe and link it with the 
thought which triggered it.

I started looking for projects which already might have realized this 
concept but so far I haven't
found any. But I found Freebase and it's various possibilities to 
explore the database, e.g. by
using Thinkbase.
Technically it seems to be the perfect basis for a universe of ideas but 
as far as I have understood
Freebase's goal is to be a plattform to structure facts and informations.

So my question is if there are any efforts yet to expand Freebase in 
terms of ideas and thoughts
respectively if it sounds interesting to Metaweb to launch a universe of 
ideas based upon technology
used with Freebase.
