[Developers] freebase as RDF URI lookup service?

Hello!
I am working on an open source RDF data mining tool.
http://code.google.com/p/inqle/
I am seeking a service that allows me to look up the RDF URI of either
classes of things (e.g. "countries"<http://www.geonames.org/ontology#Country>)
or the RDF URI of properties (e.g. "maximum daily temperature").  Can
Freebase provide this service?

My use case is: user types "country" and clicks a "look up" button.  My app
queries an RDF lookup service (like Freebase), and user sees a ranked list
of the class URIs that match country, perhaps with descriptive info for each
result.  The user selects the top URI:
http://www.geonames.org/ontology#Country.
