[Developers] Freebase API

Hi all,

I'm a little confused by some of the documentation on the Freebase
API, and I was hoping somebody here could help me out. On the Metaweb
tutorial http://www.freebase.com/view/guid/9202a8c04000641f800000000544e13e
it says "freebase.com queries require cookie-based authentication"...
but I have been able to access the API without cookies. Is this still
a restraint? Will this be revoked any time soon? I want to use
something similar to http://code.google.com/p/freebase-suggest/ in a
project and I would very much like to know an answer before committing
to using freebase. I really really hope that the restriction has been
lifted, as this would save me from having to setup a local database of
the freebase data (and keep it up to date).
