Oh well, if we're just going to suggest things that we wish other people would do, in the hopes that someone looking for ideas will pick them up, I've got *plenty* of them.

I nominate:

* Six degrees of employment separation.  "Do I know anyone who knows anyone who works for..." or "How closely am I connected to this person?" (Basically a free version of what you find on LinkedIn, without needing to pay for membership to follow the links.)
* Unit conversion demo.  Basically like the unix "convert" command but web-based and using Freebase's units of measurement.
* Generic google maps mashup using all kinds of location-ish types.  So you can select whether you want to show eg. national parks, baseball statiums, schools, etc, and it uses different coloured pins for them.  Could be fun to auto-generate a list of types that include /location/location even.

These are all pretty generic/easy things that people could do right now if they were looking for ideas, but which haven't been done yet AFAIK.
