You're right, it does look very different - ie no drop-downs at all!!

Probably I'm being really stupid.
I have tried several scenarios and servers but cannot get any 
dropdowns of any style when using IE for this.

If someone could please look here and tell me if there is anything 
wrong with my implementation:

As the case with all my efforts, this for me doesn't work in IE7 but 
does in Firefox.
I don't have an earlier version of IE to try.

.. could it be IE7 that's the problem .. ?
