[Developers] Data Mining

Hello, I was wondering how I can go about writing an app that applies data
mining algorithms and rule discovery to exploring the semantic web database.
Will this be useful for Freebase? This would be a good idea for
automatically exploring a limited area of the database perhaps finding local
weather patterns or tracking local changes in weather. I have looked at the
demos and some documentation about how to go about developing apps, so now I
need to find some people to help out or provide resources.
