[Data-modeling] Rivalry ~ Just a base of views or type(s)?

How about an inheritance property, as sometimes rivalries grow from an
older rivalry that has subsided?
US Navy vs. US Army (over air force and marines) devolved later on to
US Air Force vs. US Navy (1950's over Aircraft Carriers, Marine Air
units, etc.)
