[Data-modeling] Rivalry ~ Just a base of views or type(s)?

I like the other model better; having topics for the rivalries seems too
complex. Besides making the table view easier to parse, does it buy us
anything?  It is a pity that sibling-style CVTs display so poorly in the
table view.
