It's the local name of a language.  The same language might be spoken
in several counries, but each country gives the language its own name.
That's why I called it a localized alias.

For example, the language with iso 639-3 code LDI is called "Laari" in
Congo and "Laadi" in Angola, although it's the same thing. AFAIK,
these names are also somewhat independent of the language in which
they are being spoken-- e.g. If the speakers are using French, they'll
still use Laari and Laadi depending on where they are. 

It'd be great to find a more efficient representation than a CVT.
