Is it essential to use Freebase to store content? I can see the advantages
but I'm guessing this is a application using Freebase. I'm just wondering if
its worth the effort of rolling new functionality when lots of wiki engines
exist.

There is also this http://freebase.wikia.com/wiki/Freebase_wiki but that is
totally separate from Freebase. A Mediawiki engine at wiki.freebase.com (or
similar) would be very cool. Then lots of community generated docs could be
added.
