Martial arts: deathly silence. Is anyone using this?
Measurement unit: solid, no work needed. (There was a recent thread
about removing all derivative units like "kilometre" and just leaving
"metre", but we're not going there.)
Media Common: solid and uncontroversial, for the most part.
Responsive when things come up.
Medicine: extensive schema, not too horrible, but there have been
suggestions/requests for improvement that haven't yet been actioned.
Not much action/interest here; Mike Shwe is seeking people who are
interested in it, and didn't get much response AFAIK.
Meteorology: fairly solid and uncontroversial, but also, nobody seems
to use it much. Some crossover with /event/disaster when it comes to
Cyclone and such.
Military: needs work, especially in clarifying the difference between
an armed force and a military unit, and gardening all the data around
that.
Music: the stuff around musical artists and groups is fairly solid,
but things are really messy around albums, releases, songs, and
recordings of songs. The schema doesn't support non-musical
recordings like dramatic performances or comedy. We also need to do
something about Performances generally (musical, theatrical, spoken
word, etc). Needs massive amounts of work, but we're scared of it.
Olympics: schema's kind of confusing, but then, the subject matter is
kinda hairy. Some discussion elsewhere (Sports?) about more general
competition modelling, like eg. world athletics competitions, etc.
Not really sure whether this needs work, or whether we should just
accept that it's a hairy schema.
Opera: schema's not too bad, but admins fairly unresponsive.
Organization: fairly solid, good turnaround on requests for new
features.
People: fairly solid and responsive. Most requests for new properties
seem to be fairly specialised, and we seem to be fairly conservative
in what we add to /people/person lately. Not sure whether this is
good or bad.
Physical geography: not much change or discussion, but what there is
seems to work fairly smoothly; doesn't seem to be a high interest area.
Projects: relatively new Commons; tied closely to /architecture/
structure and the reworking of the Architecture domain. Would like to
see this type included in more things like Software, Spaceflight,
etc. Schema is OK I think, not much to be said about it.
Protected places: schema seems solid and uncontroversial, if under-
utilised.
Publishing: the stuff around books is mostly solid and
uncontroversial, and Jeff is very responsive. Could do with some more
work around journals, academic publications, bibliographies, etc, I
think.
