Yes.  It is a machine-readable string and should be exactly the text 
that appears on the cover of the edition in question, regardless of 
script, language, pseudonym, or typographical error.  Or, as the 
property help says, “The name of the author as printed in the publication.”

Note also that it is delegated from /media/creative_work/credited_as, 
and should not be changed lightly.
