All Freebase types can be modified by anyone who is an administrator of 
the base to which they belong. So for example, if you were to add 
someone else as an administrator to your Bridges base, then you would be 
able collaborate with that person on any of the types in that base.

Freebase commons types like /people/person and /business/company are 
typically administered by the Metaweb staff but anyone can ask to be 
added as an administrator if they can show that they are knowledgeable 
about the given domain. These commons types are probably the closest 
thing there is to a frozen Freebase 1.0 sort of structure but if you 
watch this list for a while you'll see that even those types get 
modified from time to time.
