[Data-modeling] Animal breeds and owners

Weirdly, all my replies to this thread have failed to come through. So I'm
trying again.
I've posted the animal breeds types to the Biology commons. But one thing I
just noticed is that I didn't account for Breed Groups in the model at all.
That is, some organizations separate breeds into different groups, and each
does it differently, and this would be interesting to collect, I think.
These are my questions for you all:
The easiest thing to do is just to add another property to the Registration
CVT to link breed group to Breed and Registry (like this:
https://www.sandbox-freebase.com/view/biology/breed_registration).
Even with this, it's hard to simply get a list of all the breed groups that
belong to a given club, so should we add a property connecting Breed Group
to Registry, which would be a partial denormalization of the CVT properties?
The other issue is that a lot of kennel clubs have a "Hound Group", but
include different breeds in it. These should probably all be distinct
topics, even though they share a name, yes?
Thanks,
Jeff
