I'm currently assuming that (due to inertia, if nothing else), the data
model here isn't likely to be changing in the short-to-medium term, so
I'll go with redundant data entry for now. If anybody feels it is likely
to change, please speak up as I'm starting to think about a
non-trivially sized data upload...
