Hello,
I am working on a project that seeks to organize information about the
upcoming Indian Elections.
http://votereport.in/blog/about/
Currently we have cobbled together an astonishingly basic list of
people and places http://votereportindia.pbwiki.com/Design%C2%A0Inputs
And, for event-based data, we want to classify according to the
Election Commission’s Model Code of Conduct:
1. Hate speech in campaigning
2. Inter party violence
3. Misuse of official means
4. Intimidation of voters/ officials
5. Violence against voters/ officials
6. Bribing of voters/ officials
7. Impersonation of voters
8. Voter list discrepancies
9. Broken Electronic Voting Machines
10. Polling booth capturing
(drawn from: http://eci.nic.in/faq/faq_mcc.pdf)
Thus we hope to capture
People
- election related officials
- candidates
- prominent endorsers
Places
- cities and towns
- polling locations
- locations of violations of the ECMCC as per above
Events
- violations of the ECMCC as per above
Organizations
- Parties
- Media outlets
- Any endorsing organizations
I have been recommending that we use Freebase to structure some of our
data. Can anyone give any advice about their experience modeling
elections?
Thanks!
Chris
