@jeff -
they do share metadata, but only, i think, because they don't map very much
right now. none of the political aspects are mapped.
1) cause- wars are caused, battles inherit their cause from their war- - 'War
of independence
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wars_of_independence>' etc
see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wars_by_type
2) detailed military stuff - id like to see 'Battle of
Guadalcanal<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Guadalcanal>'
linked with 'Amphibious
assault<http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Amphibious_assault&redirect=no>'
etc
see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Warfare_by_type
3)their conclusions - battles are won/lost differently than wars. wars have
treaties, political consequences that battles dont, that we could
(eventually) map
like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Treaties_by_war
itd be nice to be able to map 'cold war' with something. maybe we need an
'international dispute' type. i get your point, and understand if it stays
like it is. If it does stay, maybe we need a bot that adds 'person involved
in conflict' to the parent conflict?
