The point I was trying to make is that sometimes people (or more  
specifically, a data source) may know that two people are siblings,  
but don't know if they share parents.  That property is for capturing  
such data.

And, like any denormalization, we could create bots (we have a few  
simpler ones now) that can ensure the denormalization is synchronized  
and inconsistencies are flagged.
