[Data-modeling] How to model a cross-domain type?

I was wondering if anyone had ideas for a way to model in a private domain 
a type that would include elements from multiple domains?  I was thinking 
of a type of "Media Franchise".  A media franchise type could be applied 
to almost any media product - a book, a CD, a movie, and a video game 
could all be part of the same media franchise.  Does anyone have a good 
idea on how to handle something like that?
