[Data-modeling] A proposal for consumer products

Perhaps one way to differentiate, or to make it more clear, is instead of
Manufacturer use Company to indicate who owns the product. This could then
be used for companies who provide other products that aren't necessarily
manufactured (example, Freebase is a product of MetaWeb).
