I like it. I'd probably add properties for the states they run through as well and perhaps the date designated. I'm ready to load a hundred or so once the type is in production.
+1 on including scenic routes - we can include our own:

Would it be a stretch to include scenic lookouts/vistas - or should that be its own type?

This seems pretty good; I'd favor allowing all scenic routes, since different designators are going to call them different things. I'd also suggest changing the name "designee" to "designator" or something similar -- I'd expect the designee to be the thing being designated as something, rather than the agency responsible for making designations.

Subject: [Data-modeling] Scenic Byways
I discovered there's a National Scenic Byway program for the US, and my state, Vermont, has its own byway program . I thought it would be cool to capture this and so I set up a little something in sandbox .
I'm a beginner modeler, so I'd love some feedback. And I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to expand this to include more generic "scenic routes", or if that should either be separate or not done at all.
Thanks,
evening
