Did you know how many topics there are in Freebase like "trifle" and "General Tso's chicken" that are completely typeless? Criminal!

Thinking ahead, Freebase might be a good fit for applications involving
a food's country-of-origin labeling (COOL). In the UK, many foods are
required to note on their packaging where they were grown. I'm
interested in this from a location angle, and imagine being able to map
the transportation paths of all the ingredients making up a complex food
(or any consumable...a computer, a car, etc.). Knowing that a food had
to be transported a long way often discourages us from buying it when
browsing the selection at the grocery store. Although there's very
little internal incentive for food packagers (or parts manufacturers) to
track that sort of lineage, maybe the same consumer pressure that
created COOL in the UK will expand to other countries and/or products in
future.
